#WorldHealthDay  A Healthy Lifestyle to Overcome ‘Diabetes’ says PM Modi

On the eve of World Health Day PM Narendra Modi has greeted fellow country and has some words of Advise. This year theme of the Day is to Beat Diabetes.

What is Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus (DM), commonly referred to as diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugarlevels over a prolonged period. Symptoms of high blood sugar include frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. If left untreated, diabetes can cause many complications. Acute complications include diabetic ketoacidosis and nonketotic hyperosmolar coma. Serious long-term complications include cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes.

 

PM Narendra Modi says “A healthy lifestyle is the best way to overcome Diabetes”. He even addressed this issue in  his Radio Address, Mann Ki Baat.
